Special times should be marked in special ways: for the 30th anniversary of the Audi Sommerkonzerte in Ingolstadt, an online version of the music festival was streamed live. Under the motto “Together for Music”, from 2 to 5 July 2020 high-class artists came together for concerts at the invitation of the artistic director Lisa Batiashvili.
The performances took place on Audi premises and were streamed live by Internet. Small audiences had the opportunity to attend selected concerts, while keeping to the specified safety measures. By means of this gesture, employees of Audi and music fans were able to enjoy the concerts in the presence of the musicians.
For loyal audience members at the festival, small open-air concerts were held in Ingolstadt. The festival program that was originally planned for 2020, “Lights of Europe”, will be postponed until 2021.
Lisa Batiashvili – Artistic Director
Lisa Batiashvili received the highest accolade at the age of 22, from no less a musician than the great Alfred Brendel, who said of one of her concerts that “Every note sang and spoke: imagination and control, warmth and mastery, rigor and flexibility were in balance. Once again it was evident that great violinists show their skills at an early age.”
Lisa Batiashvili & Friends (solidarity concert)
On 14 April Lisa Batiashvili and other leading musicians sent out from Ingolstadt a sign of solidarity in a time of crisis. The press shop at Audi was turned into a virtual concert hall! “Music connects people across borders,” says the artistic director of the Audi Sommerkonzerte. “We hope we were able to present a moment of optimism and joy for many people.“
