Data protection information for Audi eKurzinfo app

The company which provides the Audi eKurzinfo app (“app”) and is responsible for the collection, processing, transmission and use (“use”) of your personal data in connection with the use of the app, where applicable, is AUDI AG, Auto-Union-Straße 1, 85045 Ingolstadt, Germany (“Audi”), unless otherwise stated in this data protection information.

For the corresponding app functions (“services”), a separate description is provided below of which data are used for which purpose and by whom in connection with the various services.

Personal data are only used by Audi where this is permitted by law or if you have consented to their use.

1. Collection, processing and use of your personal data by Audi

Audi collects, processes and uses the data which you enter in the app or which are generated when the services provided by Audi with the app are used. Audi uses the data for the provision and implementation of the app functions. No personal data, e.g. location data or IP addresses, are collected in this process.
Usage statistics are generated while the app is being used; this is done without the use of personal data. Personal data are not collected, processed or used when using the app.

Audi eKurzinfo scans buttons or levers anywhere in the vehicle using the camera on a smartphone. If an object is recognised, corresponding operating instructions and information are shown on the display if desired. To make this function possible, the app requires access to the camera on your device.

4. Data security

Audi places a high priority on data security. For example, we take up-to-date technical and organisational security precautions and now make targeted use of recognised and certified embedded security mechanisms and standards. We upgrade the security mechanisms when developing new functions in order to comply with the latest standards in data privacy and to ensure the corresponding data security in the vehicle using up-to-date technical and organisational measures.

You have the right to be provided with information about any of your personal data stored by Audi. However, certain personal data can be viewed – and in some cases updated or deleted – at any time via your myAudi account.
