Grand Prix Icons – Motorsport Art by Uli Ehret

The exhibition will be open from May 13, 2026, until September 15, 2026.

Motorsport history in the spotlight of art: The “Grand Prix Icons” exhibition at the Audi Forum Neckarsulm features selected works by artist Uli Ehret. His watercolors bring speed, technology, and emotion to life—from the early days of Formula 1 to the present. From May 13 to September 15, 2026, the Audi Forum Neckarsulm will host the exhibition “Grand Prix Icons,” featuring a comprehensive selection of works by artist Uli Ehret. The centerpiece is a 240-centimeter-wide painting of the current Audi R26 Formula 1 race car.

In addition, the exhibition features numerous works that illustrate the history of the Grand Prix from 1950 to the present day. On display are originals as well as high-quality art prints, some of which bear the signatures of internationally renowned drivers. Uli Ehret’s watercolors not only depict race cars but also convey a sense of dynamism and movement. After more than 30 years of artistic work and over 160 exhibitions, his works are enjoyed by drivers, engineers, team managers, and motorsports enthusiasts around the world.

As an official partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Uli Ehret has close ties to motorsports. Among other things, he has captured winning race cars on watercolor paper for designers, engineers, and drivers—always with a focus on technology, speed, and emotion. The exhibition is aimed at motorsports fans as well as visitors interested in art.

Audi R8 – Generations of Performance

The exhibition will be open from November 18, 2025, until July 10, 2026.

No Audi production model was closer to motorsport, none more extreme than the Audi R8. In 2024, the last example of the super sports car left the production halls at Böllinger Höfe in Neckarsulm. It did not go on sale, but ended up directly in the hallowed halls of Audi Tradition and is now the occasion to dedicate a special exhibition to the sports car icon. Under the motto “Generations of Performance”, the Audi Forum Neckarsulm is presenting numerous R8 models from two model generations and racing. The exhibition shows the development of the Audi R8 in motorsport - from the first concept car to the last model. These include the Audi Le Mans quattro - the study at the time for the later R8 production version - an R8 GT limited to 333 units and the winning car of the 2015 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

Film fans will not miss out either: an eye-catcher in the exhibition is certainly the Audi RSQ from the Hollywood blockbuster “I, Robot”, which is based on one of the first design drafts of the Audi R8. It is joined by the Audi R8 Spyder driven by “Tony” Stark, better known as Iron Man. Rare special models such as the first production vehicle with laser high beam, the fully electric production version of the Audi R8 as well as some rarely shown concepts and four racing models round off this first R8 show.
