Privacy Note AUDI Universal Traffic Recorder App

1. Applicability

This privacy note sets out which data will be processed for which purposes and by whom when using the respective functionalities of the AUDI Universal Traffic Recorder App (“App”).

The data controller will only collect, process, transfer and use personal data, if this is legally permitted or if the user has consented to the collection, processing, transfer and/or use (hereinafter also referred to as “Usage”) of personal data.

2. Data Controller

The provider of the App and data controller for processing your personal data in the context of your usage of the App is Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited, trading as AUDI UK (“AUDI”) whose registered office is at Yeomans Drive, Blakelands, Milton Keynes, MK14 5AN. 3. Collection and Usage of personal data

3.1 Setting/Access of your App

If you download the App, you will be asked to allow the App to have the following access to additional functions of your mobile device. The following functions are stored here:

Microphone: During use of your App, the microphone of your mobile device can be activated and will record the ambient noises and possibly voice information of all vehicle occupants within the reach of your microphone. This recording function can be deactivated in the system settings of the App.

Google Maps: When activated, the functionality “Vehicle Locator” enables you to see the last known location of your AUDI Universal Traffic Recorder (“UTR”). Should the UTR be located in the vehicle, this is at the same time the last parking position of your vehicle. Movement profiles of vehicles or single customers will not be created. It is not possible to activate the Vehicle Locator functionality during drive.

WLAN/WiFi Functionality: Is required for the communication of your UTR (with integrated WiFi Hotspot) with your App.

Data stored in your vehicle will not be forwarded to your UTR or to your App. Also, data stored in your App and the UTR will not be transferred to the IT systems of AUDI. The related data (e.g. location data, live pictures) stored in your UTR will only be transferred locally to your App and can be stored on your mobile device (depending on the system settings of your App).

3.2 Use of location data, radar and G-shock event data, live picture data

Your App offers you functionalities with regard to the broader surrounding/environment of your current vehicle. If you use the functionality “Vehicle Locator”, the location data of your UTR and the latest recorded pictures of both cameras of the UTR will be combined and stored in your App. Also, events which have been detected by the radar- and G-shock sensors (radar and G-shock event data) during the parking of your vehicle (motor off) will be stored as events (number of detections) in your App.

For a video recording of the live camera pictures of your UTR, these pictures will be stored on your internal SD-card in your UTR together with date and time information, where applicable. Your App can access these data stored via WiFi if the motor is turned on or these data can be exported to your mobile device for further usage.

The settings of the radar sensitivity and the G-Meter sensitivity can be made in the system settings menu in your App.

4. Amendment of this privacy note

AUDI reserves the right to amend this privacy note any time with effect for the future. A current version of this privacy note is accessible in your App in the menu item “Legal”. Please visit this menu item regularly and inform yourself about the applicable privacy notes.
