Audi training experience winter

The Audi driving experience in winter is an exclusive training program in which drivers hone their vehicle control on specially prepared ice and snow surfaces. Under the guidance of professional instructors (often from motor sport), participants learn about the driving dynamics and advantages of Audi models – whether with all-wheel drive (quattro) or electric drive – in a safe environment.

The program has a modular structure:Beginner/medium level of difficulty (level 1): The Basic training is ideal for beginners and young drivers. E-performance on ice training and the executive driver training are also suitable for first-time participants without driver training experience.Advanced (level 1,5): Drift and Ice Control training (2 days) build on your driving basics. Depending on the training format, initial experience in vehicle dynamics is an advantage or a completed level 1 training course is recommended.Experts/high level of difficulty (level 2): The Ice Challenge training (competitive character), the Ice Parcours training and the Executive driver training pro require mandatory preliminary training and challenge drivers at handling limit.

The target group is varied: from novice and young drivers who want to become more confident (Basic training), to technology enthusiasts (e-performance on ice training, Ice Control training) to ambitious sporty drivers and professional chauffeurs (Ice Challenge training, Executive driver training pro). A valid car driving licence is generally required.

The trainings will help you to identify risks in road traffic at an early stage and to react confidently to them. You will improve your reaction time, practice mastering the vehicle in the event of a loss of traction (understeering/oversteering) and train keeping your nerve during emergency braking. In this way, you will learn to keep a cool head and control the vehicle precisely, even in tricky everyday situations.

The winter trainings take place against the backdrop of the Austrian Alps. There are two main driving dynamics areas for winter: Seefeld in Tyrol, Austria and Saalbach in Salzburger Land, Austria.

The basic training package includes professional support from instructors, the provision of Audi training vehicles, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and lunch. For multi-day formats (e.g. Ice Control, Executive driver training), hotel accommodation (incl. half board) is also included.

Audi plans the event at locations and on days when the required weather conditions can normally be expected. The event will be held on an outdoor icy surface specially prepared for this purpose. The safe and high-quality implementation of the event depends on the weather conditions required for the formation of ice (constant temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius) for a sufficient period of time before and during the event. Nevertheless, even shortly before or during the event, unpredictable weather conditions may occur, which prevent the event from being held for safety reasons.Audi therefore reserves the right to cancel the event and/or the entire trip at short notice prior to the start of the trip. Audi recommends that you take out travel cancellation insurance or book tickets for your arrival and departure that can be cancelled at short notice.

Since the training takes place outdoors in winter (or constantly alternating between the vehicle and the icy surface), warm, comfortable, layered winter clothing is recommended. Flat, sporty and comfortable footwear is essential in order to have the necessary sensitivity for the accelerator and brake pedals. Sunglasses are also highly recommended because of the strong reflections on the ice and snow.

Safety has top priority at Audi driving experience. All driving exercises take place in a controlled environment on spacious, cordoned-off and specially prepared icy surfaces. The instructors are in constant contact with the participants by radio and the vehicles are equipped with modern safety systems.
